Planet

Give a cluck because Earth is our one and only home; there is no Planet B.
Take a Stand - For the Planet.
Global Warming is Here and it is Now.
2020 was a wake-up call. The rainy seasons are getting heavier causing floods, landslides and destroying food crops. The hurricanes and wildfires are getting more intense destroying more land every year. And the oceans are rising, displacing hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. A few degree does not sound like a lot, but think about what a few degrees does to a human body.
Deforestation is Accelerating.
In order to satiate our appetites, we are destroying more primary forests to accommodate for the land that has been leached of all its nutrients due to monocropping. Industrial meat is the leading cause. It is not just the land needed to house the animals, it is the land needed to grow the un-natural crops needed to feed the animals as well. And to think that a third of all food grown and caught are thrown away while millions still starve.
Our Oceans are Garbage Dumps.
It was only in the 1960’s that plastic became cheap and popular. Plastic was created to be indestructible. At first, it was used for things that needed to last forever, but government subsidies and technology have made it so cheap is slowly leaked into our everyday life. Plastic cannot be recycled and it cannot be destroyed. Microplastics can be found in all our oceans and our babies.

“What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.”
- Mahatma Gandhi
Convenience will be the death of us.
Everything that we do is paid for in either our time or money. As the hustle of everyday life keeps growing, we lose our time, so we depend on what our money can buy. The evolution of our world, switching to cheap foreign labour, switching from long-lasting high-quality to cheap throwaways, handmade to factory, and diversified to industrialised has given the rise in fast fashion, fast food and fast “info”.
At first we compromised time with money, then money with quality, and now we need to calculate the cost of our fast, cheap, and convenient lifestyles. Convenience will be the death of us as a species. The cost is on the Planet and eventually, as she has recently done with Covid-19 and extreme weather conditions the last few years, Mother Earth will collect. It is time for us to wake up and give a cluck.

Simple Solution
For the Planet, the single most important that you can do is to choose a plant-based diet. The best thing about this is that when you eat in a way that is good for the planet, it is also good for you. There is no better time to make a transition with meat alternatives and new vegan food bloggers to help.
