If I Only Knew Better…

You don’t know what you don’t know - Anonymous

And just wow, there is so much that we all don’t know. And as Aristotle wrote, “The more you know, the more you realise you don't know."

I started pulling at the sustainability string in 2007 and when I think everything has unravelled and I have learned as much as I need to learn about the dark side of how our world runs, there is more to learn.

  • First I gave up meat because it was bad for the environment. It was land destruction and carbon emissions that first got my attention, then it was water pollution and oceanic dead zones. Then I learned about the anti-biotics and the horrific ways they treat the animals. Then I learned that 1/3 of all food is thrown away. Then I learned that the industrial meat industry is basically running on serfdom, and that commercial fishing uses slave labour. Then because of Covid, I learned that the lack of food is not a matter of not having enough food, its a matter of logistics and distribution.
